This piece was wheel-thrown with b-mix clay (a white clay body made from mix of porcelain and stoneware; very popular among potters, reasonably so — it feels like throwing structurally-stable butter). The relatively simple shape of the vase is transformed by the vertically-carved, blue stroked channels, which run down the pot at delicately thin intervals, and introduce a beautiful depth of shadow across a shape that would otherwise be as remarkable as an avocado in a trader joe’s.
This piece is approximately 5” tall.
